Jennifer, I take heart from my Rhododendron here in Vermont. Last year, as the buds were about to swell, we were hit by a fierce late frost. They all died. Later three new leaves grew in place of every bud. This year the pink blossoms are the very best I can ever remember.
I do wonder sometimes if certain plants/bushes have an every other bloom cycle where they really show off! This year has been wonderful! All the best to you Shelagh!
