Dear Friend and Fellow Maker,
I’m sending you this little note, a postcard as it were, with a few simple words. (And a whole lotta pictures which would surely NOT fit on a postcard! 🤪)
Happy Valentine’s Day! However it is you celebrate, or not, I’m wishing you a festiveness to your day much like my sketch.
I am, despite the amount of pages filled in my sketchbook, still crocheting! But somehow crocheting leads to collage…
…which leads to drawing and (apparently) splashing gouache and such around on a page…
…which then leads to washing up a delicious pile of handspun yarns…
…and of course then requires that a few of these yarns be woven into cloth… (see my Instagram for more photos and the completed cloth.💖)
…which has me thinking about tapestry… (no photo yet as I am still in the delicious percolating stage 😂)
…and enjoying the fact that mom is much more stable now that we have straightened out the medication debacle. She is always on my heart and mind as I wear both of my Patsy’s Perfect Tunics (not at the same time of course, but alternating them according to the up and down weather we are having 😄). You might want to knit one of these Tunics, so perfect for layering over long or short sleeves, a turtleneck, whathaveyou!
And as always…spinning.
May your days be filled with making; hands and heart full of wonder and curiosity; reaching for beauty when it seems hard to find; and resting from all striving.
With gratitude,
Jennifer
P.S. I am intending to “remain quiet” over the next several weeks as I spend time reflecting and resting in this space called Lent, leading up to Easter. I find it interesting and somehow lovely that Valentine’s Day and Ash Wednesday are on the same day this year. ❤️
Jennifer, I so enjoyed your postcard, drawings and talk. You have been introduced to me, and I’m sure to others as well, by Kristin Nichols in Massachusetts. I am lucky to have found her, and now you.
Loved your sketches! Thank you for sharing them with us.
