I struggle to write this reply through tears Jennifer. Write, write, write as much or as little as you are moved to. Your words touch something deep within me and it's the pure emotion of your words that bring the tears, not sadness although indeed what you are going through with your beloved mother is difficult. I imagine that anyone who is also experiencing a similar situation will find beautiful solace in what you write.

My mother is still with us, but doesn’t remember me. I love the flowers you’ve made…and how you can keep making with the yarn. They’re beautiful colors. Your writing is inspiring! Life gets hard, but joy is just around the corner! Thanks for sharing, it’s given me much to think about.

And thank you Lela for sharing your story here...my heart goes out to you as you walk alongside your mom through dementia. Blessings to you as you keep creating...even something simple is such a help. -Jennifer

Around the holidays especially, I think of earlier times, of times that are gone, of those who are no longer here. I have tried to push away the sadness but other times the sadness just flows. I keep saying to others that I am on a roller coaster when they ask what is wrong. The making of things with my hands always helps. It is a comfort. Losing my mom was very hard and the world has not quite been the same. Mostly I am peaceful about it, sometimes not.

Thank you dear Jennifer

Dear Theresa...I wonder if we ever really move past the passing of our moms. I feel as if I've been losing her for a long time and I know I will lose her from this earth one day in the not too distant future. It is a comfort to know you and have you as a friend in this as well as in all things creativity. May we go forward, one stitch at a time, threading our way through the ups and downs. Blessings to you! Love, Jennifer
